Ribonuclease A is an endoribonuclease that efficiently hydrolyses RNA contaminants in DNA preparations from tissue or bacterial cell cultures. One unit inhibits 50% of activity of 5 ng of RNase A.
RNase A is used for a variety of molecular biology applications, most commonly for the hydrolysis of RNA that contaminates DNA preparations. This enzyme is used during plasmid purification without nicking or degrading plasmid.
